Wedon’trealizehowmanytimeswelookatsomeone,andinasplitsecond,wedecideifwe’regoingtolikethemornot.ThescripturesaysthatmanlooksattheoutwardappearanceofotherswhileGodlooksattheheart.Now,youmightbethinking,“Ofcourse,Godlooksattheheart,He’sGod.HowamIsupposedtolookatanotherperson’sheart?”Youmaynotexactlyknowaperson’sheart,butasJesussaidinthisverse,youcanlookbeneaththesurface.Youcantaketimetogettoknowsomeonewhomightlookoractdifferentlythanyou.Don’tjustwritethemoffbecausetheydon’tmeasureuptoyourstandards.YouneverknowhowGodwillusetherelationshipsinourlives.Jesussaidwhateveryou’vedonetotheleastofthese,you’vedonetome.Inotherwords,whenwemakequickjudgmentsaboutpeople,it’sasifwearemakingquickjudgmentsaboutGod.Don’tletthatbeyou.Lookbeneaththesurface.Lookforthegoodinothersandfindsomecommonground.Beforeyouknowit,you’llbelivingtoblessothersthewayJesuscommanded.
