Weallgothroughsituationswherewe’renotbeingtreatedfairly.Maybesomebodyistalkingbehindyourbackortryingtomakeyoulookbad,maybeyouwereoverlookedforapromotionorcheatedinabusinessdeal.Whenwe’rebeingmistreated,thenaturalthingistotrytodefendourselvesandsettherecordstraight.Humannaturewantstogetevenandgetrevenge.Butthescripturesays,“VengeanceisMine…saystheLord.”ThatmeansGodwantstomakeyourwrongsright.Hewantstopayyoubackforeveryunfairthingthathashappened.HeisaGodofjustice.
Noticewhattoday’sscripturesays:youcaneitheravengeyourselforyoucanletGodbeyouravenger,butyoucan’thaveitbothways.Ifyoutakemattersintoyourownhands,thenGodisgoingtostepbackandsay,“Goahead,doityourway.Lookslikeyoudon’tneedMyhelp.”Butontheotherhand,ifwechoosetostayonthehighroadandsay,“No,I’mgoingtoletGodbemyavengerandtrustGodtobringjusticeintomylife”,thenyouareleavingthewayopenforGodtomovemightilyonyourbehalf!
