DidyouknowthatintheBible,Davidwas17yearsoldwhenhewasanointedtobeking,butyethedidnottakethethroneuntilhewas30?I’msureduringthose13yearstherewereplentyoftimesthatDavidwastemptedtothinkitwasn’tgoingtohappen.I’msurehewastemptedtogetfrustratedorevenfeellikeafailure,thinking“God,didIhearYou?IthoughtYousaidYouweregoingtodosomethinggreatwithmylife,butnothingisgoingmyway.”Herehewasbeingfaithful,butallthoseyearshesawnosignofthepromisecomingtopass.
I’msureDavidhadtofightthesamenegativethoughtsthatwedo;thoughtsthatweretellinghim“It’snotgoingtohappen.David,youdidn’thearfromGod.Justacceptit.”Thebattlewastakingplaceinhismindjustlikeourbattlestakeplaceinourminds.Duringthosetimeswhenitseemslikeyouaren’tgettinganyclosertoseeingyourdreamcometopass,remember,thescripturetellsusthatthroughfaithandpatienceweinheritthepromisesofGod.
