Thisweekend,wecelebrateIndependenceDayinAmerica.July4,1776wasthedayAmericadeclaredindependencefromBritain,butthebattleforfreedomwentonuntil1783—sevenyearslater.Eventhoughthepeopledeclaredtheirfreedomin1776,theyhadtostandandfightformanyyearsbeforetheBritishwouldacceptandrecognizedtheUnitedStatesofAmerica.

Inthesameway,wehavetodeclareourfreedomanddeterminetostandagainsttheopposingforcesinourlives.Wehavetodeclareourfreedomfromaddiction,poverty,sickness,andlack.WehavetostandandfightuntilwefullyexperiencethatfreedomandpeacethatGodhaspromised.

IlovewhattheearlycolonistsdidoncetheysignedtheDeclarationofIndependence.Theyreaditoutloudinpublic.Theypublisheditinthenewspaper.Theyspreadtheword.Theycontinuedtodeclareandcelebrateeventhoughtheywereinthemidstofthebattle.

Whateverbattleyoumaybefacingtoday,declarethatyouarefree.Declarethatyouareanovercomer.Celebratethevictorythatisonitsway!Asyoustandstrongandcelebrateyourfreedom,youwillexperienceHisvictoryandtruefreedomallthedaysofyourlife!
