OnetimeinScripture,MosessenttwelvementospyoutthePromisedLand.ThepeopleofIsraelwerecampedrightnextdoorandexcitedaboutpossessingtheland.Butafter40days,tenofthemencamebackwithanegativereport.Theysaid,"Moses,therearegiantsintheland,andwe’llneverdefeatthem."Thatnegativereportspreadthroughouttherestofthecamp,andthepeoplebegantomurmurandcomplain.

ButoneofthespiesnamedCalebsaid,"Moses,wearewellabletodefeatthesepeople.Letusgoupatonceandtaketheland!"
