CarlLarssonwasborninStockholm,Sweden.Hisparentswereextremelypoor.However,attheageofthirteen,histeacherurgedhimtoseekentryintotheStockholmAcademyofFineArts.Hewasaccepted,andin1869,hewaspromotedtotheAntiqueSchoolofthesameacademy.There,CarlLarssonbecamemoresureofhimself.Afterseveralyearsasillustratorforbooks,magazinesandnewspapers,hespentseveralyearsinParisasahardworkingartist,withoutanyrealsuccess.
