메일확인을할때내게오는것이다라는확신이없으면대부분열어보지도않고삭제한다.그런데잘쓰지않는메일주소로1통의메일이들어온것을발견하고지우려는순간뭔가그럴듯한이름이보며내용을열어보았다.
내용은영국인터넷복권추첨에서내메일주소가당첨되어250만불을받게되었으니에이전트와연락을하라는것이었다.엉터리라생각하면서도읽어보니내용이하도그럴듯해서정말연락을해볼까하는생각에남편에게이야기하였더니단한마디로일축해버리는것이었다.
그래서인터넷상으로메일에써져있는기관들의이름을검색해보았다.결과는내가받은메일과금액,에이전트주소,전화번호만다른똑같은내용의메일이구글에떠있는것이었다.이상하다싶어더검색했더니만사기성메일에피해를입은사람은연락을해달라는공고문이뜨는것이었다.

사실이확인되면서5년전겪었던일이생각났다.근무했던기관장앞으로메일이왔는데아프리카어느나라의재력가가자신의막대한재산을국제적인구호사업에쓰려고하는데그일을맡아줄사람을물색했단다.그대상으로기관장을찾았고맡기겠으니자기네나라로와달라는이야기였다.
