새해아침에

이아침에떠오르는저태양을바라보면서,
사람들은아마도몇가지다른생각을하고있겠지…
저지평선너머에는수많은태양들이기다리고있다가
매일매일하나씩만떠오르는것인가?
어제의것이나오늘의것이나똑같은것인데
단지내가새로운태양이라고느끼는것인가?
어제의지친태양이그어데선가잠을자고서
새로운기운으로다시오는것인가?
오늘도어김없이헌태양이또다시떠오르는것인가?
그것도아니라면…
태양은그대로있는데,
지구가한바퀴돌아서제자리로오는것인가?
친구여!그것은아무것이라도상관없다!
저태양이아무런소리도없이제길만가듯이,
우리도사는날까지아무런불평없이제길만가자!고,
이새해아침에다시한번다짐해보자!

Theyallgatheredinthenightaroundthevillageinn;itmusthavebeentheirusualhabit.
Thatvillageinnwasgoodplace-bigtrees,shadows,anddogsmusthavebeengatheringthereeverynight.
Theministerbecameverydisturbedbecausethedogswerebarking,creatingmuchnuisance.
Halfthenightpassedandthatministercouldn’tsleep,sohecametoguru.
Hesaid“Areyouasleep?”
Hewakedupguruandasked,
“Pleasetellmehowyoucouldfallintosleepamidsuchnoisesallaround.
Atleasttwentytothirtydogsarethere,andtheyarefightingandbarking
anddoingeverythingthatdogsordinarilydo.Sowhattodo?Icannotsleep,
AndIamsotiredafterthewholeday’sjourney.
IfIcannotsleep,itwillbedifficultforme,tomorrowIhavetogoagainonatour,
andIwillleaveearlyinthemorning.
Sleepdoesn’tseemtocomeandIhavetriedallthemethodthatIhavelearnedandheardabout:
countinglambs,prayingtoGod,etcetera.
Ihavedoneeverythingbutnothinghappens,sowhattodonow?”
Gurutoldhim“Thosedogsarenotgatheredhereforyouortodisturbyou.
