SouthKorearespondedwithadvancedK9self-propelledhowitzersanddispatchedF-16fighterjetstoYeonpyeong,shortlyaftertheNorthfiredaround170artilleryshellsontotheislandanditssurroundingwatersoffthewestcoast. ThecommunistcountryaccusedtheSouthofinitiatingfire,sayingtheSouthhadlaunchedartilleryshellsintoitswatersearlierthatday.SouthKoreanmilitaryofficialsdeniedthattheyprovokedtheNorth. NorthKorearecentlysaiditwasreadytofighta"sacredwar,"andsaidlarge-scalejointmilitaryexerciseslaunchedbySouthKoreaandtheUnitedStatesthisweekaretantamounttodeclaringwaragainstit. ‘전쟁나면서울이아니라평양이불바다’
지난2010년연평도사태당시우리군의대응포격으로북한군40여명이사상,북한군이우리군과맞서기를꺼린다고미국자유아시아방송(RFA)이북한내부소식통을인용해2일보도했다.
북한황해남도의한소식통은이방송에"2010년연평도포격전에서북한군인10여명이사망하고30여명이부상했다는소식을한(북한군)대대장으로부터들었다"며"이대대장이사망한북한군인들의시체와부상자들을실은군용차가북한군총참모부산하중앙병원인`평양11호병원’에후송되는것을목격했다"고전했다.
방송은이소식통이연평도포격도발을자행한것으로알려진북한군4군단군관들과친하며최근중국에나와이같이말했다고밝혔다.
소식통은"북한군부도한국군의첨단무기에겁을먹었다.군수뇌부에서는매일전쟁을한다고큰소리치지만정작병사들의사기가말이아니다"며"연평도포격전이후군에서는한국군과싸우기를꺼려한다"고말했다.
또한북한군방사포부대에서군사복무를했던한탈북자는“방사포는발사한다음에15분만에장비를걷어가지고철수해야하지만,철수하지못하면타격목표가된다”고말했다.
특히포병부대군관들속에서는“남조선군이우리의방사포좌지를정확이찾아타격한것을보면허술히볼존재가아니다”면서“우리가또다시포를쏘는날에는사단,군단사령부가불바다로될것이다.전쟁이나면서울이아니라평양이불바다로될것같다”는우려가터져나온다고전했다.
미국의한대북전문가는"얼마전북한이한미연합군의서해상사격훈련때도`무자비하게대응하겠다’고엄포를놓았다가도하지않은것은한국군의강력대응을두려워하기때문"이라고이방송에말했다.북한은2010년11월23일연평도에수십발의방사포를발사해우리해병과민간인이각각2명숨지고18명이부상했으며,우리군은K-9자주포로대응포격을했다.
