(詩) 삶의 법칙- 인생의 법칙

– 이상봉

잘못 주입된 지식- 그 잘못된 지식-을
늘 경계하고 조심해야만 되느니…
그것은, 모르는 것 보다,
훨씬 더, 해로운 것이기 때문이란다.

전혀 맞지 않는, 다른 사람의 신발이 너를 고통스럽게 하듯이…
다른 사람의 처지에다, 네 자신을 올려놓아 보도록 하여라!
그러면, 너도 다른 사람의 처지와 고통을 이해 할 수 있게될 테니까.

비록, 너에게, 친절하지 못한 사람일지라도…
너 만큼은, 친절하게 대하여 주도록 하여라.
(Be kind to the unkind!)

중요한 사람이 되는 것, 그것이, 물론 좋은 일이기는 하다.
하지만, 중요한 사람으로 되는 것 보다도…
착하고 선량한 사람으로 되는 것이, 훨씬 더, 좋은 일이란다.

노력을 하는 것과 업적을 성취하는 것은, 서로, 다른 것이다.
그러니, 노력하는 행위 자체를 성공으로 착각하지는 말아라.

참여한다는 것, 그것은,
말이나 하고 생각만 하는 것으로 되는 것이 아니고…
실제로, 직접, 참가하는 행동으로만 되는 것이란다.

거창한 호칭이나 대단한 지위에 너무 연연하지 말아라.
호칭이나 지위가 거창스러울수록,
하는 일 자체는 별것이 아니기 때문이다.

행복한 사람들은,
모든 일이 잘 풀리고 또한 좋은 일만 일어나기에
행복한 것이 아니란다.
그들은, 그들에게 일어나는 일들을,
그들의 형편에 가장 알맞게 취하기 때문에 행복한 것이란다.

네가, 이 세상에 태어 났을 때, 그 때, 너는 울었지만,
네 주위의 사람들은 모두 다 웃었는데…
너에게 주어진 人生을, 그 삶을,
네 스스로, 기꺼이 그리고 아름답게, 살아가게 된다면…
네가 죽게 될 때에, 그때에,
너는, 스스로, 미소를 지을 수 있게 될 것이고…
그 반면에, 네 주위의 사람들은,
너를 잃는 슬픔에 눈물을 흘리게 되리라.

The Law of Living

Beware of false knowledge,
It’s more dangerous than ignorance.

Always put yourself in others’ shoes.
If you feel that it hurts you,
It probably hurts the other person, too.

Be kind to the unkind!
It’s nice to be important,
But it’s more important to be nice.

Don’t mistake activity with achievement,
Because commitment is an act, not a word or thinking.
And don’t yearn for the title,
Because the longer the title, the less important the job!

The happiest of people
Don’t necessarily have the best of everything;
They just make the most of everything
That comes along their way.

When you were born, you were crying
And everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life lovely and willingly!
So that when you die,
You’re the one who is smiling
And everyone around you is crying.
