죽음은 확정된 것

누군가가 죽게 되면… 사람들은,
그의 죽음은, 때에 맞지 않는 비극일 뿐이라고, 이야기를 한다.

사람들은, 항상, 그 죽음이라는 것을,
마치, 사고로 인하여 일어나게 된 일처럼
그렇게 다룬다.

그러나, 삶에 있어서, 죽음처럼 확정된 것은, 죽음 外에는 없다.

모든 것이, 하나같이, 모두 다 불확실하지만…
죽음만큼은 아주 분명하고 확실하게 정해진 것이다.
그렇다! 죽음만큼은 절대적으로 확정된 것이다.

죽음이라는 것은 목숨이 없이도 존재할 수 있지만…
목숨이 없는 삶이란 있을 수 조차도 없으니…
그 까닭은, 삶의 끝이 바로 죽음이기 때문이다.

Life cannot exist without death.
But death can exist without life
Because it is the destination of life.
