오늘(5/25/2023)
자동차 수리센터(Collision Center)에 맡겼던 차를 찾아 왔다.

무려, 4개월 만 에야, 차를 찾아오게 된 것인데…
그야말로, 도저히, 믿어지지 않을 정도로 오래 걸렸지만,
아무튼, 이제 해결이 되었으니,
마음만큼은 가볍다!고 해야 되겠다.

지난 1월 28일에,
Exhaust Catalytic Converter
(자동차 배기장치의 촉매 변환기- 정화 장치)를 도난 당했다.

어떤 놈이, 자동차 아래 쪽에 붙어있는 그 정화 장치를,
톱으로 썰어서, 뜯어 간 것이다.

그래서,
경찰에 보고도 하였고,
자동차 보험회사의 직원을 만나서, 그 자동차를,
자동차 수리 센터(Faulkner Collision Center)에 맡겨 놓게 된 것인데…

사실상, 그 수리 자체는 간단한 것이지만…
자동차 부품의 공급이 크게 모자라는 바람에…
주문한 그 부품이 오기를 기다리다 보니,
무려, 4개월이나 걸리게 된 것이다.
[Date of Loss: 1/28/2023, Job done: 5/25/2023.]

따라서…
나는, 그 차를, 꼬박, 4개월 동안이나, 사용할 수가 없었다!

자동차 수리비 역시 적지 않았으니,
자동차 수리비가 얼마였느냐? 하면…
정확하게 $ 4,641.94 였다.
[$ 4,141.94(보험회사 지급) + $ 500.00(본인 부담) = $ 4,641.94]

그렇다!
그 도둑놈의 도둑질로 인하여,
보험회사는 $ 4,141.94,
나는 $ 500.00의 돈이 들어갔고…
(따라서, 차 보험료도 덩달아 올라가게 되겠지만…)

그 바람에,
나는, 그 차를, 꼬박, 4개월 동안이나 사용하지 못하였다.
(나에게는, 다른 차가 있기에,
그다지 커다란 불편함은 없었지만…
“차를 4개월 동안이나 사용하지 못하였다!”라는,
일종의 억울함이 없는 것은 아니다.)

아무튼,
이제, 일이 이렇게 해결 되었으니,
마음만큼은 가벼운 것이 사실이다.

나로서는…
그 도둑놈의 心理(심리)라는 것을, 이해할 수도 없고,
또한, 그 놈을 곱게 보아 줄 수도 없지만…
그래도… “그 놈이, 잘살게 되기를” 빌어 주어야 되겠지?

남의 자동차 부품을 훔쳐서,
과연, 얼마나 보탬이 되었는지?
과연, 얼마나 생활에 도움이 되었는지?에 대해서는
내가 아는 바가 전혀 없지만…
그래도… “그 놈이, 잘살게 되기를” 빌어 주어야 되겠지?

All things flow, Life is flux

No matter how extreme a situation,
It will change.
It cannot continue forever.

Natural events balance themselves out
By seeking their opposite,
And this process of balance is at the heart of all healing.
Like as the turbulent sea will become calmer itself.

This process takes time of course!

If an event is not great, the balancing required is slight.
If it is momentous, then it may take days, years, even decades
For things to return to an even keel.

Actually, without these slight imbalances,
There could be no movement in life.
It is being off balance that keeps life changing.

Total centering, total balance would only be stasis.
All life is continual destruction and healing, over and over again.

That is why, even in the midst of an extreme situation,
So-called the wise are patient.
Whether the situation is bad, calamity, or their own anger,
They know that healing will follow upheaval.

Water seeks its own level.
Fire extinguishes eventually.
Life is new every day.
Sun is new every day!
