백반증이라는 희귀 피부질환을 앓았던(suffer from a rare skin disease called vitiligo) ‘팝의 황제’ 마이클 잭슨의 큰 아들(his eldest son)이 아버지와 같은 증상을 보이고(show symptoms of the same skin disease) 있다는 의혹이 제기됐다.

올해 13세인 프린스 마이클은 자매-형제인 패리스(12), 프린스 마이클 2세와 함께 최근 하와이에서 휴가를 보내던 중(while on a recent holiday to Hawaii with his siblings Paris,12 and Prince Michael II, eight) 팔 아래 흰색 반점을 드러냈다(reveal white patches under his arm).
햇볕 노출에 따른 결과(the result of sun exposure)일 가능성도 있지만, 피부 벗겨짐 이상의 극적인 것으로 보인다는(appear more dramatic than peeling skin) 것이 의학 전문가들의 의견이다. 백반증은 얼굴과 몸의 색깔을 변색시키는(discolor the face and body) 유전 피부질환(a hereditary skin condition)이다.
프린스 마이클과 누이동생 패리스
지난해 50세 나이로 사망한(die last year at the age of 50) 마이클 잭슨은 수 년에 걸쳐 피부가 점차 희어진 것이 그 질환 탓이라고 말했었다(blame the disease for the gradual lightening of his own skin over the years).
큰 아들 프린스 마이클이 비슷한 증상을 보임에(show signs of similar symptoms) 따라 일부에선 잭슨이 정말로 프린스의 생물학적 아버지인 증거(the evidence Jackson really was Prince‘s biological parent)라고 말하고 있다.
잭슨이 자녀들의 실제 아버지라는 것(the paternity of Jackson’s children)은 피부색의 차이 때문에 의혹 대상이 돼(be under question because of the difference in skin tone) 왔었다.
프린스 마이클과 누이동생 패리스는 1996~1999년 마이클 잭슨의 부인(Michael‘s wife from 1996 to 1999)이었던 데비 로우에게서 태어났으며(be born to Debbie Rowe), 블랭킷으로도 알려진(also known as Blanket) 프린스 마이클 2세는 잭슨의 이혼 후 신원이 알려지지 않은 한 대리모에게서 출생(be born to an unknown surrogate after the divorce)했다.
